Welcome to our shop for beautiful knitting and crochet stitch markers!
My name is Janet Rice-Bredin and I love yarn! I knit and weave every chance I get.
As a university student, I first became hooked on crafting in the 1970’s when I worked as a Timber Technician for the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources in Northern Ontario, Canada.
We were flown by float planes into the forest for 10 day periods, camping in tents or old Junior Ranger cabins. In the evenings we would fire up the Coleman lanterns and work on our crafts. I brought a latch hook rug to work on, and completed the rug over the summer months.
During my winter lay-off, I walked past a yarn shop one day and was drawn inside by the pretty yarns. I knew nothing about knitting or crocheting, but I asked the owner if I could take lessons and learn how to knit. She helped me choose a sweater pattern and some yarn.
I visited her shop once a week that winter and she taught me how to knit. And I’ve been knitting ever since. I always have at least one sweater, a pair of socks, and a shawl or hat in progress.
After years of experience with so many stitch markers that fell apart or snagged my precious yarns, I decided to make my own. I wanted something of real quality and beauty, made with my own hands.
I search for beads that make me happy, and combine them into designs that appeal to my creative soul. I care what I use to create my stitch markers.
Free Decorative Tin
Each snag free stitch marker set is shipped in a pretty padded tin so the beads are protected. This handy little case is perfect for tossing in your project bag to take on appointments or your travels.
Very few stitch marker sellers do this. Some include it as an optional purchase, but most only attach their markers to card stock.
Thank you for your interest in my shop and have fun poking around. You just may find the perfect item for yourself or a gift for a loved one.
If you have any questions or special requests, please send me a message. I typically respond within 24 hours.
